You were always there for me.  You never shut the door and you treated me as though I were your real son.  I miss you and love you forever.

As a child, I hated biscuits and gravy! Gramma knew that and grandpa didn't care. She would always come to me and hold out her hand and take the bs n gs (even chewed) to the trash for me. She knew I would be there for hours waiting to clear my plate. Gramma and I had something in common; BIG feet. She always told me it meant we had a good foundation. Gramma recently reminded me not to take the one you love forgranted, and to always be sure they knew how much they are loved.

I remember one night i stayed with my grandma Joyce and we made a carrot cake cause she said she had a "Sweet tooth." which was hilarious i laughed cause she had dentures.....so we started to make the cake she mixed the ingredients and i just had to get it out and frost it....well after  the cake was frosted and cooled we tried a bit at the same time and looked at each other and said at the same time....." i think it taste funny?" and i said " Grandma, this morning you wanted eggs but you were out?" i laughed and she followed!! I've had many memories with my grandmother but she gave me a million words of wisdom and billions words of advise......one night while watching our favorite show together C.S.I. I asked her what she thought heaven would be like and she looked at me and said...." I don't know what it would look like but i know the lord makes all the sick heeled and the weak ones stronger."

My fondest memory with my grandma would be when we spent time together to set out her Christmas decorations. We'd share stories about my grandfather as we carefully sipped on our steaming hot coco's and watched Christmas With the Kranks. I'll always remember her smile when we laughed and giggled as I struggled with the garland while the smell of cookies would creep to our nose. I'll always remember that she taught me unselfishness, the feeling of unconditional love, and the joy of Christmas . The joy of Christmas comes from the love of your family.

I used to play many pranks on mom when I was a kid (unlike today :-) ).  One of the pranks that always stuck with me was when I laid on the kitchen floor and poured a half bottle of ketchup on my chest while placing a kitchen knife next to me (to make it look like one of my bros got mad at me again and had enough).  When I heard my mom open up the back door I closed my eyes and held my breath.  Of course she knew immediately.  Without hesitation she said "steven, you better clean all of this up before your father sees it.  He's getting out of the car now".  So as I dash off to the bathroom to get cleaned up I spill most of the ketchup on the floor almost like a trail of blood behind me.  Of course mom being mom she cleaned all of it up before dad walked in just to save me an butt-whoopin.  She was always there for you when you needed an extra ear.  She was always there for you when you needed a second opinion.  She was always there for you when you needed a hug.... and she was always there to clean up your mess to save your butt.
